I know what you are dealing with...I have a 6 year old who just finished kindergarten, too and the summer is getting longer and longer. I simply don't have the energy to keep up!

I live by the timer and have done so for a while. My son just finished Kindergarten as well, and he needs that timer to keep him focused. I saw your blog listed over at the Mom Bloggers Club. Have a great night!

I know what I am going to buy tomorrow. Hopefully this tactic will keep
my daughter focused. Even if it is for only 5 minutes. I'll take what I can get.

I am checking into getting a timer for time outs since my three year old will ask me every second if the times up. This way, it'll be easier for the both us!

Hey, for what it's worth, my oldest was like Damian. I thought it was in this post but now I'm not seeing it. Constantly talking, but also always arguing...and arguing well...and usually winning. Now she is 15 and in high school honors classess and I realize that those are signs of high inteligence. A child who has a strong opinion (or many many of them) is a child who thinks for him/herself. I guess what I'm really trying to say is you're a darned good Mama!

Oh my gosh, I read this to Emily and she started jumping up and down saying "can I have one of those?"! I am so glad to have found your writing again. Hope all is well.
